IIT Gandhinagar Registrar Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specific administrative and academic experience requirements set by IITGN. The role requires a blend of high-level administrative expertise and academic understanding, preferably within a higher education or research environment. For those applying via Deputation, candidates must be officers under Central/State Governments or Universities holding analogous posts or with three years of service in Pay Level 13.

Educational Qualification for IITGN Recruitment 2026

• Essential: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade with a consistently very good academic record.
• Experience: At least 15 years of administrative experience in HR/Administration/Education, with specific years as Deputy Registrar (Level 12) or as Assistant/Associate Professor with administrative experience.
• Desirable: First-class academic record from 10th standard onwards; Degree/Diploma in Law or Management; Proven ability in leading administration in residential R&D institutions; Strong computer and communication skills.

Age Limit for IIT Gandhinagar Recruitment

The Upper Age Limit for the post of Registrar is 58 years as on the closing date of receipt of the online application (April 30, 2026). For direct recruitment, candidates aged 57 years or less will be preferred. Age relaxation is admissible as per Government of India Rules.
