GUJARAT SUBORDINATE SERVICES SELECTION BOARD (GSSSB) Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification and other details: 

3(B) Possess, -

(i) a bachelor's degree in chemistry as the principal subject obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; and

(c) (a) have about two years experience on the post not below the rank of Chemical Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of the Commissionerate of Geology and Mining, Gujarat State; or

(b) have about two years experience of chemical analysis of rock, mineral’s and ores by conventional and analytical instrumentation techniques in Government or Local Bodies or in Government undertaking, Board or Corporation or Limited Company established under the Companies Act, 2013 or University or private or public sector laboratory on the post equivalent to the post not below the rank of Chemical Assistant, Class III, in the subordinate service of the Commissionerate of Geology and Mining, Gujarat State,

(d) the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; and

(e) adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

  • Fixed salary of ₹49,600 per month for the first five years.
  • After five years (if services satisfactory): Regular pay scale ₹39,900 – ₹1,26,600 (Level-7) as per 7th Pay Commission rules and resolutions.
  • Subject to ongoing Supreme Court matters (SLP No.14124/2012 and 14125/2012).

 

 

GUJARAT SUBORDINATE SERVICES SELECTION BOARD (GSSSB) Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on competitive examination through MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type
  • Examination mode: CBRT/OMR (Computer Based Response Test/Optical Mark Recognition)
  • Examination will be conducted in two parts: Part-A and Part-B
  • Part-A (90 marks): Logical Test & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Mathematical Test (30 marks), Constitution, Current Affairs, English and Gujarati Comprehension (30 marks)
  • Part-B (120 marks): Questions related to the concerned subject and its application
  • Total Questions: 210 (Part-A: 90 questions, Part-B: 120 questions)
  • Total Time: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined
  • Negative Marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
  • Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks required separately in Part-A and Part-B for all categories
  • Merit list will be prepared based on total marks/normalized marks obtained
  • Candidates double the number of vacancies will be called for certificate verification based on merit
  • Final selection list and waiting list will be prepared based on merit and category-wise vacancies
  • Level of question paper will be equivalent to educational qualification
