Educational Qualification and other details: 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR RESEARCH ASSISTANT: Post graduate degree

in relevant subject.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR STAFF NURSE: Degree in Nursing or equivalent

from a recognized University/Institution. Diploma in Public Health Nursing from a

recognized Institute. Two years’ experience as Staff Nurse in a recognized

Hospital/Institution.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR LABORATORY TECHNICIAN: B. Sc. /

Intermediate with diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or High School with 5 years

Lab. Experience.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR DATA ENTRY OPERATOR: Graduate with

knowledge of data entry work.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR MULTI-TASKING STAFF: High School /

Matric / equivalent from a recognized board. 

SCIENTIST C (MEDICAL)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Post Graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) with one year R&D / teaching experience or Post

graduate diploma in medical subjects with two years R&D / teaching experience in the

required subject from recognized university.

Or

MBBS degree recognized by MCI or equivalent degree from recognized university with 4

years R&D / teaching experience in the required subject after MBBS degree.

Or

BDS / B. V. Sc & AH degree recognized by DCI / VCI with 5 years R&D / teaching

experience in the relevant subject after BDS / B. V. Sc degree.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

i. MD in the relevant subject from a recognized university for candidates with first

class relevant degree.

ii. Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in

recognized institute(s).

iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data

Management.

NOTES:

i. MD / MS / MDS in the relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years

experience.

ii. Post Graduate diploma in medical subjects shall be treated equivalent to two years

experience.

SCIENTIST C (NON-MEDICAL)

B. Tech degree in relevant Engineering subject with six years R&D / Teaching experience in

the relevant subject after B. Tech degree.

Or

First class master’s degree in the relevant subjects from a recognized university with 4 years

R&D / teaching experience in the relevant subject after 1st class masters degree.

Or

Second class M. Sc. + Ph. D degree in the relevant subject from a recognized University with

4 years R&D / teaching experience in the relevant subject after M. Sc. + Ph. D.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

i. Doctorate degree or M. Tech degree in relevant subject or engineering subject

from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.

ii. Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in

recognized institute(s).

iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data

Management.

NOTES:

i. PhD in the relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

Interested and eligible candidates may walk in for interview, for the following vacant posts (1) Research Scientist – B (Medical) (1 Post) (2) Data Entry Operator (1 Post), (3) Multi-tasking Staff (1 Post) and wait list for filled post (1) Research Scientist – B (Non- Medical) (1 Post), (2) Research Assistant (1 Post), (3) Lab Technician (2 Posts) under the DHR scheme "Establishment of a Network of Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and Natural Calamities” (Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory) at Government Medical college, Surat.

Consolidated salary as per DHR guidelines.

The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointments in present institute or any ICMR institutes or for continuation of his/her services in any other project.

 These posts are purely temporary and on contract basis of one year (which will be extended year to year basis)  

The candidates will have to work full time as per institutional office hours including emergencies. Computer knowledge is most desirable.

 In case of such premature termination, one month's notice or one month’s salary in lieu of the same will be provided. The same will not hold true in case of premature termination due to performance related issues. Candidate can leave the job prematurely giving one month's notice or one month’s salary in lieu of the same.

 No. TA/ DA will be paid for appearing in examination/ test/ and walk-in-interview. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/ recruitment shall be disqualification.  

Candidate should report at 9:30 a.m. with original and Xerox copies of all the qualifications, experience certificates and any government approved identity card.(i.e. aadhar card, driving licence, voter ID, passport) and required documents at the time of interview
