For all candidates (except categories mentioned below at Sl. No. 2).

Out of this fee of ₹ 500/-, an amount of ₹ 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in 1st stage CBT.

For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC)*. (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS. EBC Certificate should also not be confused with Extremely Backward Class Certificate issued by some State Governments.) This fee of ₹ 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in 1 st stage CBT.

NOTE: Only candidates on appearing in 1st stage CBT will get a refund of their examination fee as mentioned above.

MODES OF FEE PAYMENT: a) ONLINE fee payment only through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate. b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through ONLINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode. c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and will be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.

RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

(a) ONLY ONE online application through unified official RRB Website is required to be submitted by the candidate. Candidates can apply to only one RRB; the selection of RRB once exercised shall be final. Application to more than one RRB by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications and he/she will be debarred from all future RRB & RRC examinations

(b) The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of above-mentioned recruitment stages. However, RRB reserves the right to conduct additional CBTs, if considered necessary, for all or for a limited number of candidates as may be deemed fit by RRB.

(c) The Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for recruitment to the posts of Junior Clerk Cum Typist (Level 2) and Accounts Clerk Cum Typist (Level 2) has been dispensed with for CEN No. 07/2026. Candidates are still expected to have basic computer proficiency, including adequate typing proficiency using computers. Their proficiency in this regard shall be assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance may affect/delay their confirmation or promotion.

(d) The date, time and venue for all the activities viz. CBTs, Document Verification, Medical Examination or any other additional activity as applicable shall be fixed by the RRBs and shall be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course. Request for postponement of any of the above activity or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.

·         Objective multiple-choice questions; 1 mark per question and 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer. Section distributions are indicative and may vary.

·         Duration is 120 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe; eligible candidates may receive compensatory time even if they do not use a scribe, under the CEN rules.

·         Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL/SC 30%, ST 25% (both CBTs). Relaxation of 2 marks may apply for a shortage of PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies. These are qualifying marks, not the final selection cut-off.

·         CBTs are available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages; questions display in the chosen language and English.

 

a. Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics etc.

 b. General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, StatementConclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs etc.

c. General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.
