PGCIL PowerGrid Non-Executive Recruitment 2026: POWERGRID (Power Grid Corporation of India Limited), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has released the official notification (Advt. No. CC/01/2026) for Non-Executive posts including Diploma Trainee, Junior Officer Trainee, and Junior Technician Trainee. This recruitment aims to fill a large number of vacancies across different regions in India.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has published the Diploma Trainee, Junior Officer Trainee & Junior Technician Trainee Notification 2026 in April 2026. Full Time Regular Three Years Diploma in relevant discipline of engineering - Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering/ Power Engineering (Electrical), from recognized Technical Board/Institute with minimum 70% marks for General/ OBC (NCL)/ EWS Candidates and pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD. Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME etc. with or without Diploma is not allowed.

Diploma Trainee (Civil) - DTC

Full Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized Technical Board/Institute with minimum 70% marks for General/ OBC (NCL)/ EWS Candidates and pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD. Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME etc. with or without Diploma is not allowed.

Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Survey Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering (with survey as a subject) from recognized Technical Board / Institute having minimum 70% marks. Higher technical qualification like B.E./B.Tech etc. with or without Diploma is not allowed.

Candidates with Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or equivalent higher education qualification shall not be allowed to apply.

Junior Officer Trainee (F&A) - JOT (F&A)

Inter CA/ Inter CMA. Candidates with Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/ CA/ CMA or equivalent higher education qualification shall not be allowed to apply.

Junior Technician Trainee (Survey) - JTT (Survey)

Full-Time Regular Two Years ITI (Surveyor) from a recognized Technical Board/ Institute. Higher technical qualification like Diploma/B.E./B.Tech etc. with or without ITI is not allowed.

POWERGRID Diploma Trainee, Junior Officer Trainee & Junior Technician Trainee Selection Process 2026

  • Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT) - 100% weightage (170 objective questions: 120 Technical/Professional Knowledge + 50 Aptitude)
  • Computer Skill Test (CST) (for JOT HR / F&A) - Qualifying in nature
  • Trade Test (TT) (for JTT Survey) - Qualifying in nature

Pre-Employment Medical Examination

·         CBT Qualifying Criteria: Minimum 40% aggregate (UR/EWS) / 30% aggregate (reserved) with separate minimum in each part (for Diploma / JOT posts). For JTT: 40% (UR/EWS) / 30% (reserved).

Final merit is based on CBT marks only (CST / Trade Test is only qualifying).

Selected candidates shall undergo training for a period of one year. Pay during training & on successful completion of training is as given below.

Pay scale Rs.24000-3%-108000/- (IDA) at S0 level with Basic Pay Rs.24,000/- + IDA, HRA and Perks @12% of Basic Pay

On absorption (after training)

Junior Engineer Gr-IV / Junior Officer Gr-IV at S1 level in pay scale Rs.25000-3%-117500/- (IDA) with annual CTC approx. Rs.12.7 Lakhs

Junior Technician Trainee (Survey) (during training - 1 year)

Pay scale Rs.21000-3%-72000/- (IDA) at W2 level with Basic Pay Rs.21,000/- + IDA, HRA and Perks @12% of Basic Pay

On absorption (after training)

Junior Technician at W3 level in pay scale Rs.21500-3%-74000/- (IDA) with annual CTC approx. Rs.10.9 Lakhs
